Not sure about what the exact thread but the ones from most other hyundai's will work. I have a tiburon shifter on my accent. I can only assume that it would also fit an elantra.

any knob from a civic or dsm or most toyotas will fit

I believe it's M8 X 1.25 but i might be wrong.

while it supposedly gets hot (got nerve damage cant reallly feel heat in right hand) ive always loved the feel of my b&m shifters knob

I want to say it's 12mm, up from 10mm on our J2 predecessors.
