Gear ratios and speed calculation

I think somebody will be interested.

You can enter gear ratios (1,2,3,4,5, Final) and wheel size.
Program will calculate speed (in KPH and MPH) depending on RPM.

I've made it in Excel

Sorry for this newbie question..... but where can I get my gear ratios??? I have a 1999 1.8DOHC MAP

hamhead 01-26-2005 12:30 PM

The owners manual should have it in there... check that out.

tanc 01-26-2005 12:50 PM

props on this...

UltraTibby 01-26-2005 12:51 PM

It is also on web tech. They have the whole break down of the ratios.

TiburonWao 01-26-2005 04:41 PM

Ok.. I think that my Manual is not acctually for my Tib.... maybe for the RD2......

The Gear ratios in Web tech is the same as mine??? remember that my engine stroke is a little different from the 2.0 ......

the stuff they say in the manual about shifting is full best fuel economy and least engine wear and thats best for the Tib and the engine etc, dont look at it if ur looking for high acceleration it says something like shifting to 5th at like 45mph or something LMAO

hamhead 01-26-2005 06:27 PM

... Hello Kit, gear ratios are when each gear maxes out... not when it recommends to shift... LOL. Gears 1-4 are the same on the 2.0 as the 1.8, but the 5th on the 1.8 is shorter.

hamhead is talking about the actual gear ratio of the tranny, not when to shift...jeeze:eek13:

I needed to refer back to this because I lost my file. I had made tabs with several versions of the 4cyl tranny ratios. Props again to Dmitry for making this.

Could you add a sixth gear?

Never mind, I see the is an ancient thread. I'll see what I can do.

Stocker 12-10-2013 07:19 PM

Guys feel free to upload your files when you have added pages and/or filled in ratios. If you gave the sources of your gear ratio data that would be great.

Red Raspberry 12-11-2013 04:56 AM

I modified the file for a 6th gear in the mph table. Where is a good site to host the file?

JonGTR 12-11-2013 08:29 AM

Yea, I thought about uploading when this first posted, but was too lazy to find a way to upload an excel file. :fp: I have all the Elantra/Tib 5speeds. I also added the missing 5krpm.
