I own a 02 Accent GS, I know in the X3 Accents you could swap in the tib 5speed gear box.

Can I put a 5-speed gear box for the tiburon in my accent? I am imagining that I will need the gear box and cable's for a Tib. I work at a dealership and have driven the tib on many occasions and it's throw when shifting is considerably less smile.gif

Why not just install a short shifter?
For the cost, it would be cheaper to adapt a tibby short shifter to the accent.

The Beta tranny does bolt up to the Alpha motor if you are really determined. To the best of my knowledge, you still need to adapt the tranny mount on the beta tranny to the accent engine subframe.

 

The LC Accents have a totally diffrent shifter design to the Tiburons.

I do know that the SR short shifter does fit the 1st Gen Accents. With slight modifaction to the base plate and some washers it works great. Installed one for a friend.

 

J@WS, glad to hear about the tibby shifter in a accent...was thinking about it,would the B&M do the trick also?

 

Come to think of it the B&M might work on the 95-99 Accents. Will have to look into it, I know of a couple ppl who has the B&M shifter, will take a look and see if can.
