Default Fidanza Flywheel Fitment

Hey guys, i knew there was a thred about the Fidanza flywheel when TSR was public however no one was able to answer my question about fitment on a '97 1.8l 5-speed Tib. I heard something about spacers before but that doesn't do me any good since i don't have any specifics. I had sent an e-mail regarding fitment to ptuning.com but they couldn't answer it either. Any of you all know whether i'm able to fit the flywheel on my 1997 1.8l Tiburon? I hope so! Thanks, here's the e-mail from ptunning....
Dear Customer,

Thank you for your inquiry.

We do not have confirmed fitment for the 1.8l. You will need to contact
your hyundai dealer to see if the 1.8l and 2.0l motor uses the same stock
flywheel. If they do then this flywheel will fit.

Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
Performance Tuning

It will NOT fit.

The newer beta motors have a smaller center mount than the older beta's do. The older beta's have a 44mm mount shaft for the flywheel, The newer engines have a 35mm mount. You would have to have the center hole machined out to the larger diameter to fit. Also, the older motor has a 7mm mounting depth, the newer has a 5mm mounting depth. So the depth of the hole would also have to be modified. I've got 2 lumps/blocks sitting in my garage, I'll double check the exact figures tonight.

Older as in 1-2 Gens, older as in the '97's. Just curious if I cant get one of these... 2k1 Tib 5spd SE. The thing is, I am holding off because of this spacer issue too... oh well,

Hope so,

-Steve

to be honest, I know it is different on the Beta2's vs the 99's and older. I don't know if it is different in the 2000 and 2001 vs the Beta2.

We'll have to check HMA Service for that one.

I tried searching, but the forum doesn't seem to want to search past the first day I brought it up here. I'll have to try to upload more files and see if we get a broader search.
