I just recently had a problem with my stock flywheel and clutch on my 2004 tiburon gt, I went ahead and installed the Fidanza lightweight flywheel, (part#193461) and the clutchmasters FX-200 stage 2 clutch. After a month of break in I finally took it out to the drag strip. It pulled a 16.442 on the quarter mile. Well the next day I went out to run a few errands and now it is slipping. So I took it to the mechanic that installed it and he told me that he had to shave the flywheel 2 thousands of an inch to get it to fit correctly. That it is slipping because of the clearance of the flywheel to the clutch. Is this true or did he royally mess up my clutch? Can anyone verify any of this?
I don't know how I missed this post, the flywheel was an 193361 but was it an HY3 or HY5?
Given the year of your Tiburon it should have been an HY5, the HY3 is rarely used. When we get these calls I normally have the mechanic call Fidanza and everything gets installed properly. If the mechanic had to shave anything I would have to say it was installed incorrectly.
Several weeks ago I had a customer call me and said the Fidanza flywheel did not fit. I emailed him a phone number and 2 names to ask for at Fidanza and several days later the customer said it fit and everything works great.
