from what i can tell, id say its rear engine and it just has fancy exposed linkage.



the shifter will pivot left/right on that main bar.



when you push it forward/backward the linkage (you cant see) selects the gear just like any other vehicle..

Car is a Spyker C8 I believe. Works the same as any other shifter, you can see the linkages instead of them being hidden.

FAIL!!!! it clearly says C12 on the door sill of the top image.
