Default clutch upgrade

I wanted to find out everyone's opinion of which clutch I should get for my turbo tiburon. I know of a stage three clutch offered by clutchmasters, but I hear that it is real catchy and jerky. Are there any better clutches available. Thanks HondaEater

Red has a unit from RPW. A ceramic clutch, but I think His is grabby as well.

Chris H of Fxtreme and I have the clutchmasters stage 3 carbon kevlar unit. It IS grabby.

KORE offers clutches, but I don't know if anyone has them installed yet. Maybe you could get a discount for being a guinna pig for them!

Someone also has the "brass button" clutch from HVE, but I don't remember who that is. I 'm not sure on the feedback from that one either.

I have the Brass button clutch from HVE.
At first it will gitter but grap nice.I had mine installed for almost 2 months and put 2000 Klms on it.The Jerky feeling is gone but is truely an amazing clutch. The Brass button Clutch is more than enough for your Turbo set-up.

Yeah, my clutch is nasty-grabby. I swear it would stick to the wall if you threw it wink.gif Seriously though, this clutch is extreme overkill, but likely would hold more horsepower than any of your transmission could take.

That being said, I'll likely (in the future) downgrade to a CM stage 3 or 4.

Let me get this right. The ceramic clutch is overkill (exclude that one), I checked the price of the brass button one and it is $800 (that must be pesos or something because who the hell would pay that for a clutch), I can't even find a clutch offered by unorthodox racing, and I have no idea about the clutch offered by KORE (their web site sucks and does not tell you applications or prices). This is all very aggravating! The Clutchmaster one is $487, which is reasonable I guess. How much did you all pay for your clutches. Also how much labor will be associated with the install of one of these? Later HondaEater

Isn't the HVE prices in Aussie Dollars? If so then the clutch isn't $800 it should be around $400. Also if you want more info on the KORE clutch go to www.hyundaiperformance.com and see if anyone has one. They have clutches up to stage 5 I believe. Hope this helps.

The Brass Button Clutch is $800 Australian Dollars not in US Dollars.

Thanks everyone. I have changed my mind again and finally settled with getting the stage 3 clutch from KORE. It seems to be a nice middle range clutch. I am trying to keep my clutch to be weaker than my trani. I want to blow the clutch before anything else. The brass button and ceramic clutch are a little overkill. So I will be a ginnypig and let you all know how it holds up. wink.gif Later HondaEater
