OK....I have a Vitek Stage 3, 4 puck clutch, and am now having some issues I hope you guys can help me out with. Recently I have been experiencing different pedal pressures at random whenever I disengage my clutch. Meaning everytime I push the clutch pedal in, sometimes it feels normal, other times it seems waaaaaaaaaay loose/easy. I bled the clutch already, and don't know what the heck else could be doing this..PLEASE HELP!! This is on a 97 Tibby.

your master cylinder might be on its way out...that same thing happen to me on my excel and thats what was wrong...sometimes it grabs low and sometimes high....look into it...your dont want to end up the way i did...800 miles from home and no clutch!! outch! this is actually when i bought my tib! with 200,000 miles and leaking engine...it was time for something new! it was an excuse.

 

the only time i've run across that was when there was air in the clutch line. i'd try re-bleeding it.

 

Re-bleeding it is the "cheap" solution. Heck, while you are at it, flush the clutch system. A layer of "dirt" always seems to develop in the bottom of the clutch fluid resivor. Get a screw driver, stir that stuff up/scrape it off, and then flush out all the fluid. Do it until the fluid coming out of the bleed screw is 100% clear.

See if that helps. If not, try to "reproduce" the strange clutch behavior. If you can get it to do it every time, it's much easier to diagnose/fix.
