Clutch install questions
Just make sure you have at least two pump jacks and some small peices of wood cause your gonna have to put a jack under the motor to hold it up and if it's only you doing it you might need one to put under the tranny to lower it down. And make sure that when you put it all back together and you bolt that arm back on to the fork that you push it in so the throwout bearing snaps into the pressure plate.
remember to center the new clutch!
i've had some problem after rebuilding my tranny...
a tool to center a clutch cost 30$ CND or rent one at canadian tire...
or even, center it at "eye" but maybe its will be harder to re-enter the tranny at his place...
good luck!

ok, i hope i can explain this clearly. to suspend the engine, here is something my friend came up with when we were doing the tranny swap. you get two pieces of pipe (we got galvanized so it was stronger). make a cross, and have the cross meet at the hook on the engine closest to the firewall. through that cross, you put a hook with threading and a nut to hold it on the pipes. this way, you can losen or tighten the nut to raise/lower the engine. i would get some cinder blocks, as i don't trust just a jack holding up the car, or at least some jack stands. if you have the manual, just follow it. it's not hard, just time comsuming and "different" the first time you do it (especially when you're doing a tranny swap). when i have to do it again, i'm not going to be as timid or nervous. btw, the pipe/cross suspension thing only worked for me because i have a front strut bar to tie the pipe to to prevent if from rolling forward.

you need a pretty bad a** drill to make a hole in the pipes for the hook. the one we used was a bosch i borrowed from a neighbor. it had so much torque, it was unbelievable. the thing would bite into the pipe and spin YOU around, and it was a bad a** bit, too.

The Half Shafts?
prior to clutch removal.
Do they need to be removed or just disconnected by prying them out out of the transaxle.
...Does any one know?

the halft shafts just pop out of the tranny. It takes a aver SMALL bit of prying to get them moving, but once out about 1/4 inch, they nearly fall out.
Just keep in mind, there is gear oil back there, even if you drained it...some more will leak out.
