Clutch Install?
I'm getting a new clutch for my 97 tib fx, and I was wondering if it would be easy to install it myself, and if not, how much for a shop to do it. roughly? Thanks a lot.
If anyone can also relay some sites or places that sell good clutches for not a lot of money. smile.gif smile.gif

Well..as far as doing it yourself...if you have the proper tools to lift your car off the ground, pull the transmission out, then the clutch, and then bolt everything back in again..then go for it! Otherwise...I would leave it to a pro! wink.gif *lol* As far as how much a shop would charge you...it's hard to say. I had my centerforce clutch installed by a friend that works on tranny's as a living. He only charged me 125 bux to install it. You're probably better off going to a small shop than a big commercial one because you'll save a little bit of money. But at the same time...the commercial shops know exactly what they're doing.
As far as clutches go...you have centerforce, clutchmasters, and then stock stuff. You might even be able to find a used stock clutch from a junk yard or from www.copartfinder.com Also...KORE sells clutches as well. But I'm not too sure on pricing or availability. Good luck! wink.gif
