Half of the springs are loose and one set fell out. They must have finally fallen out Friday night and thats why I didn't have a clutch. Theres also not alot of friction material left on the clutch disc. The flywheel is turning pretty rainbow colors and has gouge marks in it from where the springs made contact. The pressure plate isn't all that bad but has some marks on it.

Ouch now that sucks. I've seen it quite a few times though and not just with ebay clutches.

 

who was the ebay seller?

and was it a stage 3 clutch u have there?

my spec stage 3 looks exactly like that, the pressure plate is blue though and has eaten 2 throwout bearings so far

just get a scoupe-turbo clutch..

A word of advice, don't get a stage 3 clutch unless u have 240hp or higher in your hyundai which is unlikely..

I have a stage 3 in my clutch in my beta lc, sure the grip is terrific and spot on but it's harsh engagement is very tiring in long trip's and everyday driving,
especially stop and go traffic and jammed highways, i'd suggest a stage 2, i'm di-verting to a stage 2 also, with a xtd lightweight flywheel,

 

Stop throwing these "stages" around as you'll confuse people. If you want a easy clutch to drive in traffic/ everyday make sure you get a sprung, roung clutch disc. The pucked clutches are what make driving it around everyday a bitch.

I have to agree here, many people think that a fiber disc clutch cannot handle alot of abuse but they are very wrong. I'm not a big fan of ceramic 'puck' clutch discs unless its an all out racing or heavily modified application as they for the most part are a pain to drive in traffic with a small engine and especially for those guys that waste they're cash on the light flywheels. One thing the pucks are good for though is if you get heat in the clutch, they are alot less likely to be 'hurt' vs a fiber disc clutch.

Another thing that many people dont understand is that in 'stages' of clutches the main thing that really changes is just the pressure plate and that is also where alot of engineering goes into on 'clutch feel'. You can have one heck of a heavy pressure plate yet have a very light clutch pedal because it was designed like that. I've driven customers vehicles in the past that would make your leg shake at lights because they put some POS pressure plate in.

After dealing with many many clutch companies out there, I now build my own clutches here locally, only when it comes to twindisc's etc will i head on off to one of the big boys because at that point is a whole new ball game.
