Default BETA 5spd Gear Ratios

Lets talk Gear ratios. If you slap on some 190whp on a low boosting turbo. driving in fifth at 80mph at 4rpms is really gay.

Also since fifth is weak, I would like a longer fourth gear. I understand HMA is in accurate so its uselees in this search.

Does, Anyknow if the elantras gears are long in fourth and fifth and if the final drive ratios are any differet?.

If you change the final drive, you can make all the gears top out a different speeds. right? Making first goto 40mph would be nice.

My main goal is 80 at 3000rpms.
And I am thinking a higher top speed in fourth would be nice, since you can't put get on it in fifth.

Random, you are making 170whp? Are you punching it in fifth if so, is it holding?

Right now, my car is tuned for 180 WHP and 197 Ft lbs...and 5th gear is holding up fine.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it till closer to 250 WHP. 5th gear is weak, but not THAT weak.

Next, the only way 5th would break is if you floored it in 5th. If you are flooring it in 5th gear, better acceleration can be had by downshifting to 4th anyway...thus elimitating the problem.

In response to gear ratios...I'll research them and post them up.

::;sighs::: This sucks. most I could get was 3500 at 80mph instead of 3800 at 80.

2 Things. Can you list the 6sd ratios. just curious of them. Also do you have any part numbers?

Could you list the elantra gearing as well. They have the same tranny but I am hoping for wider gears.
