Automatic Tranny
Is it normal for an automatic transmision to hit the rev limiter?
While driving to work this morning I heard a wierd noise, when I looked down at my tach, the needle was bouncing aorund.
I was driving it pretty hard (like usuall), but i've never been able to make it do that. No I wasn't shifting it manually.
Was it beacuse of the bitter coldness outside?

oh, you know how to fix that?...do the swap
um, when you say it hit the rev limiter, did it hit it and shift, or bounce off of it? you mentioned the cold weather. was your engine warm? if not, you shouldn't drive it hard at all, unless you want your pistons to f**k up the cylinder walls
if it happend once, don't worry about it. if it is a perpetual thing, take it to the dealership.

It was bouncing off the limiter, so lifted on the gas then it shifted. It wasn't fully up to normal temp.

i was hoping random would come on with some more info than i have. but it's just not recommended that you run the engine high in the rpms until it's FULLY warmed up. when the engine's cold, the pistons might shimmy up the cylinder and scrape the walls.
