Default Auto trans problem - 96 rd coupe

Australian delivery 1996 rd fx coupe - auto

The trans in this car intermittently jumps between 2nd and third gear at speeds less than 60kph and also seems to restrict the engine from accellerating cleanly. The engine seems to rev up and down slightly during standard acceleration.Engine and gears seem to work fine if manually shifted but I am pulling more revs between changes. The transmission was replaced just over twelve moths ago ( NEW ) by previous owner and was working fine until three months ago.No unusual incidents that seem to have caused the problem.Oil level is perfect. Was checked in neutral.Colour is good and no burnt smell.
after doing a little searching some information pointed towards what appeared to be called a pulse generator which is apparantly on the top and bottom of the box.
No fault lights appearing on the dash.
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Gordon

Sounds electrical. smile.gif

Checking your grounds would be a good place to start. Bad grounds can do funny things to cars.

One time a bad ground forced me to drive home at 3am with no headlights.
