yeah, that is exactly what I am talking about.I have the same problem with my car(01 tib). I just lift the clutch a little while shifting in reverse and it pops right in. NO Problem
I think, the gear is just out of aligned and the bring the clutch out a tad turns into position
but does sping fast enough to grind.
yeah, i have the same problem going into reverse. sometimes, i have to put it in any other gear a few times and maybe disengage and then reengage the clutch. hmm, no synchro. point of interest, reverse is a straight cut gear, that's why it makes that whirring noise. racecars use straightcut gears, so they don't have to clutch each gear when they shift. now, how can i put the car in reverse without clutching it? btw, ONE MORE POST AND I'M AT 100! WOOHOO!
now, what to post about for my next post
edit: ok, i guess this was my 100th post.

well your AUDI a6 may have a syncronized reverse.
I know the 6spd in the GT tib but thats made by Aichi for Hyundai and they normally make quality sh*t nissan. Course this miss the boat with hyundai. 6spd keep breaking.
I think the 03 5spd have reverse syncronzied. if so we could steal it and put it in ours.
