99 tiburon Automatic Rebuild kits
Does anyone know where I can get a full rebuild kit a 99 tiburon? I looked on google and its these stupid gaskets and filters for 150 bucks. I know it will be alot more expensive but I cant seem to find any. My car hasn't had over drive for atleast the last 25,000 miles and now from me thinking its a 3 gear corvette when i put it in drive sometimes it will engage but then other times it just will act like its in nuetral, Ill shift threw the gears a few times and then it will finally go. Havent had any reverse problems just drive. I have a guy that will rebuild it for next to nothing labor wise + the rebuild kit. I'm either trying to get an idea on how much they are or just buy one that way I'll know if I'm getting shafted. Thanks

Here
And be sure to use ONLY the Hyundai oil or you'll chew chewing through bearings faster than Schwarzenegger's housekeeper does box of trojans. I think someone said Royal Purple works too, but iirc the Hyundai stuff is less.

Yeah i f*cked up about 20k miles ago I put some ATF fluid in non SPEC-II Hyundai Stuff. Some Castrol or something brand I put in but it seemed to help with for a little and now its back to the same shifting style of a slam when going through gears. Especially when im flooring it, I have to wear a seatbelt around my neck just so I dont get whiplash

If you plan to abuse the trans with any hard driving either treat the parts or consider a manual swap.
The autos are so weak in our cars that it's hard for them to hold together even with stock power. I had my rebuilt countless times in 2009 due to these same issues and had to change my driving habits altogether. If you have an extra $100 or so you can probably send the shafts, gears and bearings for a good cryo and/or shot peen then run the trans on some Royal Purple and have a good solid auto that might support a decent drive with a few small mods.
What kind of mods and how sprited a drive are we talking about to date?

If you intend to drive like that permanently:
1.) Update you life insurance
2.) You'll ether need to swap to a manual OR mod the auto. With the stock trans you'll be blowing through parts.

If you are not familiar with Level Ten, this link will show you the kind of stuff they have available. I'm hoping somebody will post up with some experience with Level Ten stuff. They claim to build automatics that will hold big power. And they are expensive.
