ya see all i said it was is that it was wierd because i always remember my car doing 70mph @ 3500 rpm, but on my way up 2 syracuse it was @ 80mph @ 3500 Rpm, does that mean that my spedo is off and i was really going 70? or would changing the back tires to stock have caused this differance, i know for sure when i had all stockers on there it was 3500 @ 70 and im 90% sure it was like that when i changed to all BF goodrich Euro T/A's @ 205/50/R15, but i just noticed this yesterday

Thats one of your problems, those tires. Your speedo will show a higher MPH and your tach will read higher.

the rear tires? the rear ones dont effect the speedo @ all the speedo is taken off of the front tires, hence when u loose grip in the snow ur speedo goes up

The speed is taken off of the output shaft on the transmission, its a worm gear arrangement. Its work off the same premise as a distributor work, a toothed wheel brakes a magnetic field and creates voltage. You speedometer is a voltmeter. If you have changed nothing in the way of tires on the front and now it reads higher. Have you put on a gauge face on or anything dealing with the needle of the speedometer.

From what I have Calculated you have a .685 overdrive and a 4.345 final drive ratio. With those numbers and tire dia of a 205/50-15, and the engine RPM at 3500, you would read 80.71mph.

Well with the stock tire, doing 80mph you would be running 3414 engine RPM and doing 70mph you would have a engine RPM of 2988.

The tire size won't throw the speedo off that much, tire pressure maybe if it was off by alot, drag maybe 25-50 rpm at most on the auto ( ever driven in a 80 mph wind ) . Auto even with the torque converter won't do it like that either, the speedo is either off, tire pressure way off, or the torue converter is burnt out, the last part would be really noticeable.

Getting back to :Skilspeed:

It greatly depends upon the "rake" of the 3 foot ricer wing!

My first calculation with the spolier rake at an 8.3 degree downforce the Tib would land ass-end first and given the relative density of gravel the crater would be 2.76 feet deep.

Now if you were to land in a dense New England forest the crater would only be .928 feet deep!
