Default 2k1 tib b&m shifter questions

Ok, on the B&M site there is a different part # for the 2k1 tib, I have heard its because the shifter plate is different. But from the pictures the 2 shifters arent even close in design, and on the SR site there is no mention of the one not fitting 2k1 tibs. Can someone clear this up?

There are two different part numbers for the B&M. The one that you need for a 2001 Tiburon is: #45115

Do NOT get the other one. It will not fit.

btw: I have a B&M on my 2001 and love it. I highly recommend it. It's a great upgrade for your driving pleasure.

So the B&M site is wrong? Because it recommends #45119.

I think the 45119 is for the Elantra. Remeber, the 2 cars have the same motor.

I agree with Grundle. Great product for your car in shortening the throws!

OK OK... some confusion. This is straight from the B&M site:

Hyundai

Product # Model
45115 Elantra '00, Tiburon '97-'00
45119 Tiburon '01

So, again I ask, is B&M wrong, or SR? Will the 45115 work for 2k1 tib? Sorry about being a pain, but I want to make sure I get the right shifter. And I trust you guys the most to know the right answer.

Okay, do this. Check the color of your baseplate.

Take off the surround around your shifter and look at the bottom plastic plate that you shifter attaches to.

If you have a WHITE plate, its #45119
If it's BLACK its #45115

Doesn't matter what the site says.

Baseplate:
WHITE = #45119
BLACK = #45115

I have the box for my 2k1 Tib.. the part number is 45115. Takes about 10 - 30 minutes to install the shifter.

Spiff is right. Don't go by the site. The best way is to check your base plate. I had to return and exchange the shifter because I got the one for 2001.

Black = 45115

white = 45119

'01 tibs has two different shifter. The early prod has a black shifter plate and the later prod of the same year has white. That's why its confusing.

hope that helped.

Has anyone bought the knock off B&M shifters from ebay...supposedly "OBX" short shifters?
