The all-new HTRAC all-wheel-drive system is all set to debut in the second-generation 2014 Hyundai Genesis sedan.
It may sound as a surprise, but it has long been speculated that Hyundai will offer the 2014 Genesis luxury sedan with an all-wheel-drive system.
Today, the South Korean largest carmaker has officially announced the new AWD system will be called the HTRAC and will be made available for the first time on the all-new Genesis luxury sedan.
The second generation Hyundai Genesis is scheduled to make its official domestic-market premiere before the end of the year, while the US-market Genesis will be displayed for the first time at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Hyundai HTRAC Development

It also enables the driver to select different driving modes for a more sophisticated and tailored driving experience.
Their brand-new all-wheel-drive system has secured best-in-segment driving performance and durability through a series of pre-production tests carried out in various conditions worldwide.
Hyundai Genesis prototypes have been spotted testing the HTRAC system at the Nürburgring in Germany, as well as at the Yeongam F1 circuit in South Korea.
Furthermore, the automaker has also carried a series of severe winter tests in Northern Europe.
Next-generation Genesis premium sedan will be the very-first model to feature the HTRAC, but Hyundai says their all-new AWD system will later also appear in other models.

When the Genesis Coupe comes out with AWD, and if they push the numbers up past 300 HP stock for the 2.0T...there's going to be A LOT of new fan boys and band wagoners jumping on board.

Too lazy to research at this hour, but are there any similarities in the front structure that would allow to adapt this to older GCs? Finding a wrecked HTRAC sedan to mod an aging coupe would be so sweet. Doubt its possible though
