New Sonata presented in Frankfurt.
Hyundai presents new Sonata with 2.7 liter engine at the IAA in Frankfurt.
Hyundai has issued details of the facelifted Sonata which will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The new Sonata is slightly larger than its predecessor with the length increased by 35 mm to 4.75 m. The load compartment capacity is also increased by 34 liters to 430 liters. There is a choice of two gasoline engines. Apart from the existing 2.0 liter engine (96 kW/131 bhp), there is also a new 2.7 liter V6 engine (126 kW/172 bhp) with a claimed maximum speed of 220 km/h.
The convenience and safety equipment has been revalued. The Sonata now offers front and side airbags, Passenger Presence Detection (PPD, occupant sensing passenger airbag), 15" alloy wheels, ABS, electronic traction control (only for the 2.7 liter V6 unit), Xenon headlights, front foglights, remote power locks, power and heated door mirrors, front and rear power windows, air-conditioning and a height-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support.
