I bought a set of cheap ebay rotors last year when I needed some new ones. I noticed the other day there are some spider cracks in between the drilled holes. I figured it would happen since they were cheap but they got me through a year with no problems. I'm guessing its probably not very safe to keep driving on these, right? Do I take the chance of these things falling apart or shattering if I did any hard braking? I'm going to buy some quality blanks today (non drilled, but vented). It might take a few days for them to get here so I guess I'll just have to be careful with the way I drive.

 

probably not a good idea. I wouldn't suggest drilled rotors, there really is no benefit.



Contact Craig at Invision Automotion for some Premium R1 rotors. I'd suggest slotted only if you want the look. I just bought R1 rotors from him for the Genesis

 

Unless you can afford a lot more than just rotors, go VERY easy on your brakes and change them as soon as the new ones arrive. Driving slower is probably also a good idea.



The cracks have likely been there a while and you will probably be fine but . . .

 

Samething happened to me. So now I just stick with slotted rotors.

I've never needed anything but the OEM style.
