Default Thinking I may buy a BBK

I have been toying with the idea of buying a Brembo kit for my tib, but I had a question about something. When it comes time to change the brake pads, do you have to buy brembo's again or are there other pads out there that fit brembo calipers?

i'd imagine if you had a brembo system from another car (evo/gen coupe) you could get away w/ it.

otherwise no i don't think you can-...

what have you done to your brake system already? (upgraded rotors? pads? brake lines?)

are you currently experiencing brake fade?

does your car occasionaly compete in road course or autocross events?

are your tires grippy enough?

do you have light-weight rims?

if you've answered yes to all of the above, then i think you should look into a bbk-... i'd start w/ the xg swap. dunno if a bigger (heavier)rotor will help but the larger pad surface and 2 pistons should help. i still want to see the weight difference between the xg rotor vs stock.

if you said no to any of them i'd upgrade the little stuff first!

and don't underestimate the lightweight rims (15lbs or lower and you'll see one hell of a difference)

i've got ss brake lines, d/s rotors, 15lb rims, and falken ziex 912 i can stop my car in a very short distance. if i needed more i'd swap the pads for some good ones but i honestly don't see the need to.

I'm sure there are others as well. I know when I was looking at Wilwood calipers I could get many different compounds from different brake pad manufacturers.
