Hey guys. I just finished my 12000k HID Install. While testing before final mounting i wedged 1 ballast in between the wiper fluid bottle(upper part) and the ABS Unit (oil filter structure-like) because i had to drive the car as the battery was flat.. I think i pushed it too far in and somehow now my e-brake and ABS lights are on.. There are wires for ABS where i pushed into. Im thinking there is a rubber like line coming from the black oil filter like structure. Is this a vaccum line. If so its probably punctured. My ABS is not working. Ill take a photo and post.. But any idea's? Im posting with my phone at church so pls understand the writing. Thanks

last time i had both lights coming on for me it was because something was going on with the alternator. check your alt. belt beacuse that will cause both the abs and ebrake lights to come on.

Hey Optimo,

Why would that happen because the alternator?

I know it might be but i havent had problems(lights dimming) with the car running and playing

my sound system on high volume.

I just think the obvious reason for the ABS and brake light coming on was

because i wedged 1 of my ballast in between the wiper reservoir and ABS UNIT.

I didnt know there was a wire there and pushed the ballast in and i think

that a wire came loose or i damaged the abs unit.

I hope putting the ballast and ABS unit touching didnt make a short.

Is this possible?

I checked all the fuses...

1 more question how to turn the abs light off after i fix it?

Will it go off automatically?

B.T.W the e brake light turns off sometimes and comes back on.

Broken wire in ABS signal sender? those things are a pain. If your ABS dont work anymore its a good bet that you have a bad sensor and its tripping your ABS light.

You seem to know exactly where the problem is, go fix it.. I don't understand what exactly are you asking..

If your ABS isn't working you obviously have to start there. Check the wires and everything going to the ABS unit.. You said there is a line that is probably punctured, so go tape it or something. The light should go off once the problem is fixed I think.

If this happened exactly when you screwed up with the ABS unit, it's most likely that and not the alternator or a sensor rolleyes.gif

Make sure your + and - cables are making a good connections with the battery. I used to have the same problem, the + (red) wire wasnt connected good with the battery.

Tony,
I drive an Elantra.
But im sure its same as a tib.
It looks like an oil filter mounted on a sqaure 10cm square. with thin aluminum like pipes coming out of the block.
It sits at back of Wiper fluid bottle if standing in front of car.

Well the funny is my battery keeps dying on me.
But im almost sure its my abs unit i was fiddling with.
Buy ill check the battery and alternator with a voltmeter.

Adios

Hey guys.

WTF.

I think optimo was sort of right.

I drove my car yesterday and to my suprise the battery was flat...

I jumped it with my dads car and started it.

YaY. ABS and E-brake lights are off...

I think my battery is on its way.

Im so happy(Not about having to buy a battery but cos my ABS is back).

I hope they stay off forever.

Thanks for all the help

Tony did you find the ABS unit.
IF not i can take photo's for you so let me know.
