you should save yourself 400 and put them in a day or so. then go get it aligned for ~80. if you lived around here i would do it for the mere price of a 12 pack of brews.

well, that just depends on if you trust your eyeball more than the mechanics. more than likely, you will be WAAAYYY more picky then he will be.

Just keep track of the threads in the adjusting part of the coilovers and make sure that all 4 springs are counted and setup the same. Count the number of threads either from the top or bottom (not sure how yours is setup) and do the same procedure on all 4 sides. You should be golden then. If YOU do it, you will be more knowledgeable of your suspension and will feel more comfortable adjusting the ride height in the future.

Get a buddy to help you out. Most important thing is dont be in a rush. read up on it, ask Q's here, and be safe with the spring compressor. Other than safely raising and supporting the car with jack stands, its really the most dangerous part. Get yourself a good torque wrench if you dont have one ready and have some fun!

Do it yourself!! The more you do on your own, the more you'll love your own car.

Def. do it yourself. I changed my front struts on Saturday, took me only a couple of hours. Yours would be even easier, you don't have to take the strut apart (compress the string, take it apart, put it back).. It's just a matter of taking out a couple of bolts (although that might suck if you have rust), and swap the strut with the coilover.

yeah tibbytib, he doesnt even need the spring compressor.

give it a try dude. basically you want to...

1. hand tighten the perch that the springs sit and then further compress the spring with the wrench about 2-3 turns. you dont want to put too much preload on the springs, because that would eliminate the need for the adjustable lower mount. most coilovers you can only adjust the ride height by pre-compressing the spring. this f's with the damping and spring rate. with these the lower mount is threaded on the strut body and you can adjust the overall length with that. then lock it with the collar below it.

2. set the ride height by threading the lower mount up or down.

3. make sure the coilovers are adjusted the same left to right.
