Guys, are the rear disc brakes on the RD1 a drum+disc combo? Meaning, does the e-brake run on drums?

or are they just discs only? and anybody know what is the size of the rear disc?

thanks a bunch!

They are either drum or disc, no such thing as a combination. E-brake will run whichever is there. I believe that early RD1 tibs may be drum brakes, but I'm not sure.

1997 and some 1998 are drums. Any 99 and later is disc. I see youre 97. Maybe think about a swap or live with drums.

Some vehicles have a drum e-brake system on the bach side of the rear rotor but not Tibs.

Rear rotors on a 99 (closest to your 97 that had drums) are 10.1"

Why would you want that? If you want to swap swap to disc brakes.

Caj Darkmoon: cause I have a set of rear evo brembo brakes. and they are drum+disc..

EDIT: so, in order for me to make the rear brembos work, i'd have to have an existing set of drums+disc. the stock drum on the RD1 is bigger than the brembo's,

get what i mean?

I get it but it would be a lot of work. You would have to maybe redrill the Evo brakes or something.
