So yesterday i got my depature date from my deployment location. And well its about 10 days later than we had expected and 8 days after my orders expire. What kind of shit is that... I didnt know I was in the Army all of a sudden. Why does it take 10 days longer than expected to get a flight out of an AIR FORCE base??? I'm pissed and I'm sure my civial employer is going to be thrilled when I tell them the wonderful news as they've already been cool about me extending here an extra 60 days because someone had to leave due to an emergency. And apparently having orders expire just means they can still keep you here in "awaiting transportation status" for as long as they want where you are not required to work at this time but it is recommended if you want to have a good career. f*** that come the day my orders expire I'm done working. Go ahead and have it reflect on my EPR.. oh wait I dont get one because I'm in the guard. Well my commander is going to be mad at me.. oh wait I'm not here with my unit, I'm just an augmentee. And if they want to make an issue of it I guess than can take it up with a Representative from my state and I'll let her know that they cant get people out of here before their orders expire and I'm sure she will want to know why... ok.. rant done.. i think..

 

^^ That was really difficult to read . I'm sorry about the problems. I feel you. Are you military or a civilian? What do you do in the army? I'm a medical equipment repairer.

I don't think they can send you over-seas like that. It dosn't make much sence. I mean, to extend your stay would be one thing, but to make you stay in longer for a future mission is another. That's kinda fubar mang!

 

We are pretty much stranded here after our scheduled turnover till they can get a flight out of here for us.. and its going to take over a week to do so.
