So tonight, after alot of effort getting those damn bolts off, I got the old struts out and put the new KYB Gr-2's in to match the ones in the front. The old struts were so worn, I could push it down with one finger and it didn't even come back up at all.

Well the new struts did help alot but it still handles funny, I don't know what it is. I just got an alignment about a month ago, so I don't know if I still need to fork over another 60 bucks to get another one and if that'll help at all because I didn't even touch the front-end. I know it didn't used to handle like this, it still feels like the tires are having a hard time gripping the road and the car still leans too much during turns (just not as bad as it was) I don't know what to do next.

Suggestions?

What springs have you got on your car? Maybe look at getting stiffer ones. I'd also consider a rear anti-sway bar: it'll make a world of difference.

Your rear alignment could be out but I'd just get a 4-wheel alignment to be safe.

Tyres could be crap. I'm not familiar with the ones you've got. That said, you used to drive on 17s. Going back to 15s will probably amplify issues you may never have noticed the first time you drove around on 15s.

Stock Springs, tires are almost brand new and in great condition (Cooper ZPT's... Redz uses them as well and he thinks they're good), and yeah it is different running 15's instead of 17's but I've been on these 15's for months now (Ive gotten used to them now) and this just got noticeable in the past few weeks to a month. But the alignment may be what I need to try next I guess....

Try dropping the air pressure to 30-32psi. That's what mine are.

Maybe the tow is out on the rears?

Funny you should say that I dropped it from 39 to 32 about an hour ago in an attempt to fix/understand the problem. It helped a little I guess.

As for the tow, I have no idea.

I guess I should take it to the shop and just tell them about the excessive roll and have them inspect it, and if it ends up needing an alignment then so be it, and if it's something else maybe they'll find it so I can fix it myself, lol

Just get all 4 wheels aligned. Get the shop doing the alignment to check the suspension & steering components while they're at it too fing02.gif
