I've done my search, but there's not a lot if any people that have tried more than one set of springs for comparison. And since we live in a ricey aftermarket world, none of the companies can even provide their spring rate info. I guess that's not important.
I want the stiffest spring possible, but will fit my 17's. I'm into drag racing, but will now get into autocross.
So far, I think I've narrowed it down to the H&R's, or the Eibachs. Has anyone tried both? Anyone autocross and think the .4" drop difference will help?

This is the closest thread in the search: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...p;amp;r+springs

I've got the HKS Hard rated springs and the Eibach's on my 2 RD's, the HKS are stiffer for sure. They have the spring rates listed at the site.

I have H and Rs and like them alot. One memeber has tried both though, i havent. Tires are also very important I use the azenis which are very nice and use them on the street also. Some people bring r compound tires which they just use for autox (before you go buy those tires check to see what they allow some have treadware limits I believe). Its been a couple years, but I think I gained maybe .1 lat Gs with my new springs which is alot. I actualy adjust how tight my suspension is by mainly my tire pressures. With 17 inch wheels the tire is really thin so I dont think you can adjust alot but if understeer add pressure to the rear, over lower the lower press. Since you are boosted you may want to get on the throtle a little early (early apex) the truns depending on the sze and spool time of the turbo (turbo cars in autox are much harder to drive IMO). Sway bars are also a good idea I actually havent gotten any, but theuy will cause the car to turn when you want it to and not take a long time to roll some then turn.

Redz: No one sells the HKS anymore. I called HKS USA and they never knew they existed. And when I gave them the part #, they said they were discontinued a long time ago.

Brian: A lot of the autocrossers are recommending the Khumo Victoracers. I've been in an 11 second EVO with them, and that thing S T U C K!!! I'll probably get a set of those when I can find some cheap wide rims.
I have the adjustable Whiteline rear, but I think I'll wait to get the H&R 26mm front to see how the Tib reacts as is.
Hopefully someone who has had both H&R and Eibachs will chime in. Otherwise I may just go with the H&R's for the lower stance. Couldn't hurt to have a lower center of gravity.

A friend of mine has the H&R springs on his RD2. I have the Eibachs on my RD1 and I can tell u the eibachs are much more gentle on the street. I haven't been in his car during some hard driving, but they might be stiffer. The thing about the Eibachs, is that on regular bumps, they're pretty soft, but when you start tossing the Tib around, they act pretty sturdy.

Sure they do, you can still get them plenty of places.

You can also get the part numbers, and tell them you want to SPECIAL ORDER the part through HKS Korea. I talked to the HKS guys at the Nopi Nationals.

I can help you track down a set if you want, or I can see if SFR can get you some from Korea, they are still sold there.

Shit, post up on our subforums, Jay can find out the hardest rated springs available over there.

BTW, the HARD rated ones are very rare in the US, I had 2 sets and sold one, cost me about $60 shipped for the 2 sets on clearance.

Sold one set for $240.

LOL

Anyways, I just did a google search for the other part number, found tons of places with it listed still.

Let me know if you want my help mang.

I think I'm gonna stick to the cheaper brands since this is gonna be a temporary solution. For now, I'm just going with springs. And then I'll probably sell them to buy full coilovers a few months later. I just want to order something, probably by tomorrow, to compete in next months autocross. Maybe even have them by the TX meet on the 28th.

I was thinking, you could also just put some of those spring tensioner blocks in there when you need them.
