Gauging Interest In Rd Tiburon Performance Springs
I am gauging interest in custom performance lowering springs for the 96-2001 RD Tiburon made by a company called Road Magnet.
A little background info on me:
Since none of you know me I might as well explain, I am an active member and seller on the SR20forums (sr20forum.com forum name is robchaos19 for those of you who would like to check my feedback). I have been in contact with the president of this company and I have an opportunity to sell these springs for a few nissan, hyundai, and honda applications. (pretty much whatever car I can get for him to test the product on, I can get the springs for.)
A little background info on the product
This company is based near where I live and has been manufacturing springs for almost 100 years now and has just recently branched off from the industrial and military applications and has started making performance springs for automotive applications. I have been talking with the president of this company and have come to the conclusion that we will be able to offer a competetive spring at a good price.
Since these springs are custom made I can work with them to get the specs along the lines with what tiburon owners are looking for in terms of spring rate and drop height. These springs are superior in quality to any mass produced performance spring (IE Eibach, Tein, HKS)
If this is something that anyone thinks they would be interested in please visit your group buys section so I can get things rolling
If anyone has any questions my email address is robboser@gmail.com and telephone number is 443 536 6728
and if this is the wrong section to post this sort of thing up in, I apologize to the MODS.
Thanks all
Rob

Im a Cheap Ass cool.gif
If you have any products your lookin to get for us they had better be relatively cheap compared to ones that alredy exist. If they cost the same as eibachs, people will buy the eibachs because we know more about them and that they are good quality.

Welcome to the site.
We are always looking for new companies to make new parts for us, there are many companies that make springs out there for us, so this isn't a HIGH DEMAND item right now, but that could always change.
Let us know if there are other parts you could make for us.

Right now I can only do springs, but I beleive that these springs will be much much better then most else that is available for your cars, and I can get them at a very competetive price. Here is a little table of what we can expect based on interest
25 sets sold - $225 plus shipping per set
50 sets sold - $205 plus shipping per set
As I said these will be custom made so we can set specs. I was thinking it should be along the lines of 1.5" drop front 1.25" drop rear and 325 spring rate front 200 spring rate rear. For the weight of your guys cars that should provide a well handling yet not to harsh ride, however if anyone was thinking different, just put it out there because these would be made for your cars, not mine.

^Good math bro... now what was the point of bringing that up???
Whats the spring rate and drop height on the Eibachs???
These are custom made springs that are double shot peened for durability and then powdercoated and are suitable for autoX and I gaurentee will be better handling then eibachs. Besides that, you dont have to buy all 25 sets...thats why I am proposing this as a groupbuy, so it could be 1 set = $225 or it could be 1 set = $205.
205 is better then 225.

Getting that many folks to fork over 225 for some unknown springs, probably won't happen man. Not busting your chops, just letting you know.
^Hey man every company has to start somewhere. What I saw from these guys, was a superior product and an owner dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. He will work with me on specs and will do extensive R&D for specific applications and make sure that the springs they make are the best they can be.
They also come with a full manufacturer backed warranty. These springs are made from superior materials (high quality, high tensile chrome-silicon spring wire), are double shot peened, and powdercoated. The springs also do not settle. What they look like when you first put them on the car is what you get.

^ i like your attitude. i wish all manufacturers were like this! i know this is in the GB interest on wheels and tires, but since you have a positive attitude, a little 411 here just so you don't think we disregard new products. welcome to Americas number one ranking First and Second Gen Hyundai Forum! that means business, but most people aren't aware we're not regular tuners.
we tiburon owners are different. cheap asses if you will. since hyundai has the poorest resale value in the history of cars, we manage to get better rarer more beautiful cars than the public can for much cheaper. you can get a 1997-2001 = max loaded tiburon for $1000 - $3000 nowadays, with maybe 40 -80k young (young for 10 year span), sometimes 100k. there are a few problems though, hyundais are slow. so we try to give them a little kick by importing parts from Korea through connections. these parts are expensive and rare so whatever we earn we have to shell out on these expensive parts. why can we afford them? because we spent $3000 on a sporty car and not $12,000 on a new Honda or Toyota.
Tiburons are rare. so rare, you'll go months without seeing one. the aftermarket buyers market nearly does not exist and current stocks made for these cars are disappearing even with demand staying the same. so manufacturers tend to stay away from selling products they cannot sell in high quantities. our best tiburons are 50% custom made, with 50% of their owners doing their own line of work hence saving even more money.
not just tiburons, but elantras, accents, and the entire hyundai community have been toyed around with (stealing, ripping) in the past and trust issues come up. i'm not saying we don't trust you or your product, i'm saying that the entire older generation comminity in general has grown to depend on longterm proof and data, reputation.
if you want to sell springs, honestly you're going to have to have some test subjects, sell some weiner springs for people to disect and we can do a full writeup. even that wouldn't attract many buyers as springs do not make the car any faster and that's our number one priority. we cannot enjoy the handling of our cars if the car won't move.
as for the price, it would have to be considerably lower in order to make more profit and attract buyers. at least $180 or so due to competition. i won't be able to tell without pictures, and reviews.
1.5' drop is significantly too low. low enough for the road to rip our bumpers right off. we usually look to 1' - 1.2' drops because most of us are daily drivers and the bodykits for our cars come really low. You're in Maryland not that far from D.C. ... perhaps we could work out some deal. Struts would be more important, usually stock tiburon ride is soapy, so we like to buy stiffer struts like KYB or Eibach. Eibach buyers claim their struts are crafted nearly perfect.
