Heya guys, form the number of tib brake swaps onto the accents I can already assume that the strut bolts, ball joints, tie rod location, bearing and hub all line up, and the offset and hub pattern are the same. Now for the question, is the actual spindle the same or compatible with the tiburon rotors? I know that when most guys do the swap they switch out the spindles, but they usually have captive rotors and dont have a choice, if you had a non captive X3 accent, could you do the tib BB swap by just changing the rotor and calipre?

considering that the rotor bolts to the hub (not the spindle) I would say the only sticking point may be the mounting point for the caliper carrier. As Hyundai does want to make money on every car it sells, I can see them using the same part on as many cars as it can.

What I would do.. go down to your nearest junkyard and see if they have a front caliper/rotor/mount setup. I bought a rear for my car for 65 bucks a couple of years ago when I had one of the sliding posts seize. This would be a low cost outlay for you and you could see if everything bolts right up or not.

Yeah..... just go buy one and find out, thats why I asked the car club first, becasue I wanted to go just risk it. I know it is logical that the parts would be the same, thats why I asked. I have a x3 accent and a RD tib in my driveway, I could go jack them up and look, but it is easier if someone on the forums already knows.

I swapped my front brakes on my accent, you need to change the spindle. The accent spindle won't do the trick.

For the rear swap, you need a custom bracket (that Denist sells), calipers, disks and a few little details.

mounting points for the caliper bracket is different on the spindles
so yes, the tiburon/elnatra spindle is required
