the cheapest flight i can find to go home to l.a. is over $800
WTF.
last time i checked was before that sobpos hurricane katrina ran through and jacked up gas prices.
its getting to a point where i just dont want to pay for that man.
and who's in the air force??? the air force base here wont do space-a travel. now, what kind of BS is that?
man, soo pissed i have to spend close to a grand everytime i need to get out of here.

Where are you stationed at? They won't do space A? Thats a little strange. But you'd have to talk to the passanger terminal about that. I know i paid 220 for my tickets to vegas. i got them they day the hurrican hit. now they are only 50 more.
I imagine plane tickets to/from Alaska would be a little on the expensive side, but wow - that seems like a lot.
My friend in Hawaii is moving back to Michigan, and from there to Detroit is only $200 something.

I believe space A has been changed to where you can only use it to travel overseas and back. You could probably get a flight to Japan or Korea from Alaska pretty easily.

i got so angry today that i drove the 40min to eielson afb to talk to them about space-a.
and what the lil e-3 (e3 is 3 stripes, right?) told me was that i could get a flight, but because they dont publish their flights, when i go on leave, i'd have to check with them that SAME day to see if there was a flight to cali.

three stripes is E-4. Let me see what i can find out from here. i don't know if they have contract carriers that fly up there or not. But what base do they fly into? if it is and IAP then you can call the AMC desk there and talk to them. they can maybe give you a day but not a time till you sign up. I know it sucks but that is why it is. What base are you at?
