Hate being in this section of the forum, but it happens sad.gif

OKay, well I need a new tire in the front anyway because at the moment I have a Falken 512 with nearly perfect tread, and another which hardly has any.

Today while I was checking out my friends Jetta, I was walking around the tire, checking for bubbles (since I'm paranoid about that kind of thing now) and I noticed there is a fat little bubble on the front right tire. Wtf? mad.gif

This is making me hate 17's even more and more, does anyone else have this problem, or have I been singled out? This is ridiculous..

My choices are running low.. but I have enough money to cover the tire. The bubble isn't that severe so I'll be able to drive on it for some time. It's either that, or it's the rim causing the problem. There WAS a bend in it which this guy at the tire shop banged out for me.

I will probably ignore this reoccuring bubbling problem for now, but I really need to find a solution for this. I'll probably just order another Falken Ziex for now unless a tire shop finds a problem with a bend or something. If it's something worse, I think I will have to sell all of my rims and just buy brand new ones..

well, i would suggest when buying tires, purchase the optional Road Hazard. it can definately come in handy for situations like this...

other than that, avoid potholes! haha

sorry bout your sh1t luck

Maybe you could buy a new wheel to replace the one that was damaged?

Eh, they're discontinued. Doubt I'm going to find one.

I dont think the bent wheel is the problem anymore.. the first problem occured on the left side of the car, now this is on the right. And they both happened on tires that were almost bald.

That might have something to do with it.

I've had some bubble problems too....it's from potholes or running over something large in the road(for example, a deer carcass... mad.gif ) I would say having 17's makes you more likely to get bubbles than if you had 16's or 15's...but if you can just avoid large holes, bumps, or hazards in general you won't have the problem anymore...just drive more carefully.

Yep. With 17's the road hazards are ALWAYS there. It's because of the impact from the wheel being so close to the tire. I'm getting a new tire in a couple days so hopefully I won't be having any more problems. I have started to drive much more carefully now, the roads have been very unsmooth, but my driving habits are compensating for that evenet, so I SHOULD be able to avoid this problem altogether.
