I'm a Junior at my University, almost a Senior. The ONLY classes I have left are for my major: Architecture, and each class is a "prerequisite" for the next. <----this is extremely important!!!
So I woke up at the crack of dawn on Sat. morning and registered for my classes the day I was eligible to, because they always become full immediately and it's "too bad for you" if you don't get in in time.
Well, I registered on time, everything was done. I was the mature person and didn't procrastinate on registration like the other students normally do.
Well, 3 months later, I go to check just for the hell of it. It seems they changed the time on one of my classes, and it is at the SAME time as the other class. WTF?!?!?!?! So I immediately get on the phone to call the advisor, and I'm to only email her for now. Basically, she says "sorry, you need to wait in line to get into the other time for that class." OMFG I'm gonna murd#$&*@#^%^#@$@#$..........it's better I not say it.

These classes are limited and only available once a year. If I miss out this fall, I'll have to wait until NEXT fall. THAT'LL PUT ME ANOTHER YEAR BEHIND!!!!!!!!! I can't get into ANY other class until this one is completed.

I'm f***ing 28yo and almost done with school. It's not like I'm 18 and can wait a little longer. I NEED MY f***ING CAREER STARTED NOW!!!! I'll be damned if I'm gonna let this shit slide!!!

PS. I used no smilies because there are none that convey the ammount of pure animal rage that I'm feeling right now!!! If I all the sudden disappear off the forums, it's because I'm in jail.

If it's full go in and talk to the professor, they can usually help you work something out.

Then go ttalk to the professor and explain your situation...
My school had a very "Family" like atmosphere so i managed to sweet talk my way into my classes...

I feel your pain, I just got done with a VERY crowded community college and it sucks that you HAVE to WAIT until the exact date and time they say you can register for classes. But Murphy's Law will always cause those classes you need to be full or change times 3 months later. If you're going to murder anyone please murder Murphy, and be ruthless. LOL. Nah seriously, calm down.

And I dunno, that red angry smilie who blows up in a hiroshima-mushroom cloud is pretty animalistically and outrageously mad. (I think i just made up words...)

Here's what I did when I registered for a full class (even though I registered ONE MINUTE after they said I could begin registering...it was F-in' full, wtf?).

I went to the instructor and told him this is the ONLY time that will fit my schedule in order to earn my AA degree. He said he understood but has already let extra people in and there are no more chairs left. I gave him my class over-ride slip and let him decide if he wants to sign it. The first day of classes I went to his class and indeed there was not a single chair (as I expected). BUT, my smart-ass brought one of them fold-out mini 'three-pronged' chairs you sit on at a campfire and I royally plopped my ass right in front of the Air Condition unit (which I would use as a desk) and asked the teacher if he had signed that form yet. The next day he let me in and they even brought me one of those chair and desk-in-one unit (I felt special).

But I got my damn class. Just be ruthless, determined, and b**** if ya have too. Get sympathy from counslers, advisors, instructors...whatever you have to do. Get that damn class dude. 28 is too damn old, lol.

 

i almost feel your paint (your situation is a little worse).

im at 11 credits right now. need 12 to be considered full time and to get free health insurance these last few years i can be on my family's plan. ive searched through every possible class i would initially be interested in, made elaborate diagrams and tables to see if they conflict, and NOTHING is going to work out correct. ill be paying for a class i dont want to take.

having to schedule classes at a community college is god's way of saying he doesnt love you.

 

I hate it when colleges act like you owe them, you'd think they would be more understanding. I would contact the Dean about this or the president if possbile.

 

That really sucks man! In my school you can b**** and whine, maybe suck up a little, and you'll get into any class you want.
