Just got me some rims.

Gunmetal RoJa LT5s.

17X7 with 205/40/17 Used Kumho 711 Rubber (Two have 80%, Two have 20% left)

Rims weigh 13 lbs. They're not Forged like most RoJAs but they're cheap and VERY light.

Im paying $550 shipped to me. I know I'll need 2 new tires soon, but Im getting a set of two for $120 + shipping.

All in all, do you think its a good deal. My main goals were price and weight. I'd be curious to know how much of a difference having 13 lb 17 inch rims make.

I know OP had RoJas too. Any thoughts?

17inch rims 13lbs and NOT forged? I'd worry about them cracking. I don't think most (if not all) forged 17inch rims are that light.

Well, you have a point. But they're made by a decent manufacturer, so Im not too worried.

Besides, I cant find anyone who's had any problems with them. What I did find is a few people who say the rim weighs closer to 14.5 lbs.

Oh well, atleast its cheap. tongue.gif

Here's a writeup I found about the rims:

"Performance enthusiasts regularly approach RJ and amateur racers that desire
the weight performance but cannot afford the price tag of forged wheels. He
saw the need for a true lightweight performance wheel that was more
economical than forged concepts.

RJ experimented and consulted with casting and design engineers to develop
and produce the Ro_Ja Motorsports LT Series. RJ’s cutting edge casting process delivers a no frills, one-piece aluminum racing wheel that is still lightweight.
The 17x7 LT5 debuts at an industry leading 6.8 kilograms. This affordable
lightweight racing wheel comes in Silver, Gun Metal, White and Black finishes"

6.8 kilograms is 15 pounds but that's still extremely light for a 17" cast wheel. Good find! Let us know how they work out for you.

Ford =(

LOL, I would agree as long as we were'nt talking about the new 05' Mustang GT and 06' Charger

I would buy the 'Stang in a heartbeat.

13lbs for 17's is extremely good.
but, I hope you drive without ever hitting any potholes or train tracks 'cause I thank my wallet for my forged rims
every time I hit train tracks at a fast speed (most of the time it's unavoidable).

but as long as your happy, thats all that matters my friend smile.gif

They do look good, good luck wink1.gif

No no no...

I have a 98 Tibby 5 speed. I just couldnt find another picture of the wheels mounted. Sorry for the confusion.

Does anyone know how much the stock base OEM wheels weigh (Steelies/ FX alloys)

Thanks

Aviv

They could use a similar system to what Enkei does. they have a cast process that spins the entire rim as it is poured and cools.. resulting in a very uniform and strong rim.

I know when I ran my tib into a kerb at speed, all I did was bend it a little along the bead.. knocked my alignment out pretty badly too.. but it could have been a LOT worse on that wet and cold night.
