Japanese Beetles
Granted, I am a little biased because I actually own a house with a yard and they are destructive little buggers to my plants.. but that is not what I am griping about. Somehow these ugly insects are able to push my screens aside and get in. Every night these big ugly bugs buzz against the screens for hours on end and two or three get in.
I did not have this problem last year... and frankly it is getting really old. As I am typing this, one just landed on my desk between me and the monitor and I had to stop and squish it.
I really do not like it when they wake me or my girlfriend up in the middle of the night by landing on us.. really makes you jump out of a sound sleep to feel one of these things crawl around on your skin.

I have been there with the Lady Bugs.. place I worked at used to get infested every fall. One office was literally unlivable during that time as they would cover the floor, walls, and even the ceiling as they mated and died.. what a smell!
When I was bout 5 years younger love buge used to be a huge problem, you could catch like 10 by just swiping a net in the air, they were all over cars and you could breathe one in if u werent careful
Werd...we get lovebugs down here for a couple months a year. I usually end up coating my front bumper with Pam and washing the car every day. mad.gif
Never seen a Japanese Beetle...but we get Junebugs bad down here. Dumbest insect on Earth. I really can't comprehend how they manage to reproduce, what with all the flying into walls and landing on their backs.

it's all the californians fault!! i think we need to help that whole crack thing so ca can just break off and go ang hang with hawaii, alaska can come too.
aren't those the bugs that the farmers in ca brought it for some reason or another. apparently there are other bugs in japan to keep the #'s down but here the just go crasy. I've also noticed they are a much bigger problem on houses with siding.
edit: just found the ones i was talking about, not japanese beetles but Asian lady beetles. don't know if thats what your talking about but around here they are freaking annoying. so anyways looks like it wasn't ca's fault, south east. must have been fl....

i dont know which are which, but we get the smaller japanese beetles, and the bigger june beetles(i think) at about the same time. needless to say, the spiders around my house are properly fed during this time.

So far, we don't have a beetle problem up here, Mad. I think it's due soon though. Usually beginning to mid July we get the swarms of them that just all fall into the pool, get into the house, manage to scare the shit out of me, etc.
And don't get me started on "ladybugs." They actually aren't even ladybugs, but some type of beetle that just LOOKS like a ladybug. These beetles are orange in color while ladybugs are bright red. The imposter ladybugs mate all the damn time and will cover window areas, or just any area that leads from outside to in. I remember in my old house, we had a problem where they got from the gutters into the wood above our back door in the fall. Then I remember back when I was 12, I went on a CCD retreat to the Poconos, and there was a gym out there with these beetles ALL OVER the giant window by the pool. It was so bad they closed the pool down since they kept falling into it. Ugh.
Oh yeah, we have an awful lot of grasshoppers lately. They keep sticking onto all the cars and NEVER come off. My boyfriend drove 15 miles from his house to mine yesterday and the damn grasshopper on his car stayed from his house to mine. It was nuts. Then he stayed all the way back!
