Yea so, today I bring in my Tib to Midas to get the oil changed, tires rotated, and coolant flushed (not for lack of ability, lack of time). So I drop the car off, and I get a call a little while later. The guy says, hey, I think you should know your alignments pretty bad and you have some bad inner tire wear. So I'm thinking alright, an extra $60 for an alignment. He continues...Also, your front left strut is leaking and needs to be replaced, and I suggest you replace both front so you dont have one new strut and one with 64,000 on it. So I'm like great...well, we're now up to a $627 ordeal, so I tell him to do it, alignment, strut replacements and be done with it, right? WRONG! I get another call about 2 hours later, hey, I just finished putting in your struts. I'm thinking sweet, I can go get my car now. He continues...We just put it onto the alignment (me thinking uh oh, why would he call me before it was done...) and you need 2 new bolts on the right side of your car, one in front and one in back. Each bolt is $30 and $35 to install each. So now, what was intended to be a simple easy day turned into $760!!! owned.gif

lol, and I would've probably never even noticed the tire wear or leaking strut...hell, I didn't notice the leaking strut when I took the tire off to put on my CAI a week ago, and i SURE AS HELL wouldn't have known about the bad alignment and cambers.

And Tibby97, he did call me before everything, it was with my permission, they wanted me to put on new tires too, but I have somewhere else to go for that...it's just so annoying that this would happen, like...it couldn't have been from me, I don't understand....and I shouldve know when the tires that came on it when i bought it wore out in like 5,000 miles...

And the day before my friggin birthday too...I swear...no one wants me to enjoy my birthday ever...every friggin year something goes unbelievably wrong right on or a day before/after it.

That's why I always stay near my Tib in the shop, when mechanics do they job. So I can watch what they do and what needed to be replaced.

I just bought/switched all four rotors to cross drilled, painted calipers, and installed eibach struts all for a grand total of 425.

Assassin racing ownz.

I never take my car to a mechanic.. they always find a way to rip you off.

did they show you the leaking strut? did you check it?

Best way to check when its out... press it all the way in... if you dont see if go back up, then its busted.

Also.. what the hell is wrong with the bolts? How the hell did you mess up bolts? Are you sure THEY didnt strip them with their air tools?

What did they look like?

Its hard as hell to mess up bolts on normal wear and tear..
