Rims + Racing ???
I'm sure MAD or myself can get into issues of heavier wheels vs light weight racing rims, 18's compared to eh optimal 16's, the force it takes to spin a 18" wheel vs a smaller one,... but to sum up your question.

i don't think there's a difference between forces spinning man. i mean the overal diameter of the outer portion of the wheel is the same. the car does not sit higher or lower, travel faster or slower for rims up to 17'. it might seem like it but it's an illusion. when you get rims you are replacing a portion of your tirewall. the force of a 15-17' rim from the hub is nonetheless very much similar.
now the 18's. those are riduculus on tiburons. you got an 18' rim, with a 35' tirewall and 17.5'-8' width. that's just no good. good call for rubbing and a very, very hard ride. your brakes can get beat down taking all those bumps. you really want more tire to absorb shock than rim and brakes... sorry.
weight on 18's is going to just lose you so much gas and power.

Centrifugal force I think is the name no? Those 18's are large, and heavy. Road Race Track cars run 17's cause it gives better grip, but with the 1/4 you are trying to go as fast as you can in a short distance. Not very good to have big heavy wheels.
