HAHA well today I get pulled over for not speeding, but b/c my car is too loud. According to FL Law anything that makes your car louder than factory is illegal. This is total BS* The only reason he pulled me over was b/c my car is an import. Lets see them pull over a Mustang for having a aftermarket exhaust.. If anyone has any legal advice for me, b/c i honestly am thinking about going to court for this one, please share the knowledge. Oh its a $71.50 ticket. Plus I was pulled over in an area where there are no houses, not like i was roaring through a neighborhood.

did the cop pick you out in the middle of the night or was this a random pull over (like unexpected)?

Same story hear except in Washington State it's 140 for your first offense then 170, then 210.

Gotta quiet her down if you think you'll get pulled over again. Otherwise, take it easy when you see cops and avoid driving alone at night (or in groups) where you KNOW cops are or usually are.

Don't go to court and say "He pulled me over cuz I'm an import....if only I was a mustang" It won't get you anywhere. Go to court and say somethign liek the exhaust is temporary or you didn't knwo about the law and will get it fixed. Also, dont' say YOU did the mod...if you can say you bought it like that used or something....

Ever seen a Harley pulled over for illegal exhaust? 50% of those bikes have straight pipes with NO MUFFLERS installed, yet they never get pulled over.

Check the wording of the law. Educate yourself before you go to court.

I lived in Florida for a bit and have seen tons of those cars. Check to see if you can find the decible output of your exhaust. Usually if your within 95db's your within legal limits of the law and you can contest the ticket without a problem.

Yeah it was at 9am in the morning on 434 (which is a HW), it was a bike cop so I knew I was in trouble. I even asked the cops why he pulled me over for such a crime, he was like I have had people complaining about loud cars.. I told the cop I spent good money to have my custom exhaust and that there was no way I was going to change it. Car set up (CAI, 4-2-1 header, high flow cat, 2.25 piping vs stocks 1.75 straight back, and a greddy muffler.) Now I did read that if the car factory offers a sports package I can have it. So does anyone know if they offer a sports package that has a modified exhaust (Tuscani?)
