OK well after surfing this forum and other hyundai forums i have come to the conclusion that most of us are complete @$$holes to one another. I mean i post on the DSM forums and ask all sorts of newb-like questions and they post back to these questions in a kind manner. Not here in almost every newb-like post i have read you guys "flame" one another. Now i know that i am considered a Newb. That doesn't bother me what does bother me however is that fact that most of the people on this forum are out to attack fellow Hyundai ownerz. What the hells up with that? I just think its time so people grew up on this forum and stared acting a little more descent toward one another

It's harmless fun most of the time though. You (& others) shouldn't read too much into it. I get told off for doing stupid stuff every now & then... I'm still here & learning about my car. It's character building in a way!

 

A lot of people around here have big egos, attitudes, and are very opininated and think they know it all. There's also some that like to state their opinion on everything, whether it's relevant to the topic or not, and whether it was asked for or not. It gets very annoying. It's funny, it used to be like that over at hp.com really bad, but now its kinda reversed, hp is cool lately and over here its getting tense.

 

Yeah i post whore on HP in the AZ babble thread so my post count is sky high there. Here i feel no need to post because it will just be shot down due to my post count. Because it seems on this site your reputation is based on your post count. I mean i "could" could being the key word....be a absolute Hyundai guru and know everything there is to know about Hyundais and help someone out. But once i see how much you hate on eachother it makes me wonder. Do I want to be part of a community that baggs on one another? Probably not. I am just saying that think we may be scaring away some pretty cool people with all this newb hatein. Just my thoughts. smile.gif

 

I really don't think we hate on each other that much here... wonder what DSM Forums you surf, all the ones I go to we get in constant battles and burn each other. This site really isn't that bad....

I haven't seen a post where one person said something to the other that seriously offended the other. We don't care about post count (I don't)... it just that some questions get so repetitive and the search button is so useful.

Yeah, but some of the people that are constantly gettin' told off here just take the piss! They do it over & over & over, etc... There are a few people here that have been members for a month or two & already have 50,000,000,000 posts or something.

When someone is told to use the search feature, it's not being harsh... instead it's teaching the person to fend for themselves in a way & teaches them to navigate the site properly. It's in their best interest in the long run, like the old "...teach a man to fish..." adage.

 

Yeah im on dsmtuners. And I understand what you are saying I'm not saying that this forum is the worst...NT people flame the heck out of eachother. Yeah I am one there too. I am a forum whore laugh.gif: But I just want it to be know that i as a newb feel that this site could be a little bit better if we were just a little more understanding or the newbs and others. BTW. I still havent learned how to use that search bar....its the newb in me. laugh.gif: But i promise to try and use it if i decide to post more often in other threads. Also I do commend the MODs for doing a good job keeping the peeple who attempt to flame others out of here. I do know that they can't catch everything but good job so far

Yep props to the mods. They do a great job, strict is better than lenient in most cases.

 

im a newbie to. its bad but not that bad. the team sr forum that was some crazy sh*t. i hated asking questions on that site. i like this forum some people say crapy stuff but that life. try not to take to hart most of the time they just be playin. and if they dont like ur ideas cuz ur a newbie that screw em your just trying to help right.

 

what makes it harder now is that this site is getting more and more popular as HP is gettin less and less popular. also, it's gettin more popular because it was a feature in SCC magazine and the RD series cars are hitting more and more used car lots. more people are buying them.

the more people, the more attitudes. and some attitudes just don't mix well. thats where we (mods) come in. deleting posts is very common. verbal warnings are more common. now that we have this warning system in place, it does help it. problems are gettin resolved... it just takes a lil time for the problem solvers to get used to it.

when it comes to telling new people to search... i would like more members to do the search for them. point them in the right direction. help. aid... don't push away. the search feature is a breeze to use....

the past couple months have gotten kinda rediculous here... but it seems to be getting on the better side. we're takin care of the as$holes. one at a time...
