Default New Rims

I will be getting new rims and tires as soon as my tax return gets in. This will probly take longer than expected, since this year we decide to do the Turbo Tax thingy and it kept getting kicked back due to not having my correct birthdate. I am buying from a local shop here and they are fairly inexpensive compared to most. $799 for 4 with tires.

Getting to the point:

I am trying to decide between the silver or the gunmetal. The rims are the exact same style as the Motegi MR7, only difference is that on the center cap there is a picture of a tribal scorpion rather than the Motegi M.

The kid running the shop said that the Gunmetal would look "sick" with the Super Silver(BX) paint.

Any opinions?? and hell no I don't want any spoke rims so don't even bring that topic back. tongue.gif:

Finally : Images here. Although they suck horribly.

Maybe post a pic of your car....?
Sometimes I like a darker gray (or gunmetal) on silver cars, but others I think the rims should match the color of the car....

Is Super Silver(BX) like silvertibs (below):

Or is it more flat....

imo, go with the gunmetal.

Your color will probably go with either one ( a pic of the car would help)..if you eventually go with a CF hood or other parts, the gunmetal will look hot!! It's up to you though

Why not buy some motegi's online with tires for like $600?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=66483

Add shipping and it still cheaper, and they are real motegi's laugh.gif

Welcome to the site man, make sure you SHOP AROUND when looking at tire/rim combos. You'd be suprised what you can find on Ebay or elsewhere.

I had found Motegi MRs on the internet for 555 shipped, mounted, and balanced with good sticky tires for $550. You = getting ripped. Unless you wanna pay for those scorpions lol.

Not to sound too cheesy but I would rather support my local shops seeings how they sponsor and support our SCCA chapter. I managed to get the guys at ProTint to come down to $699 on the set and upgraded the tire package to the Kuhmo V's at 215/40. It's around $750 after taxes and all that other jazz. The Ebay ones would be $725 after shipping and no alignment.
Just hope I can get em by with no-rub. Talking with some of the owners at our local club at Louisvillestreets assured me that it wouldn't be a problem.

Check out http://www.jaydm.com/wheels.htm (I know its for honda/acuras, but the 16'' rims will fit our cars)

All of those Rota's are hott! Plus they are cheap as heck too. I bought a wheel/tire package from them about 6months ago for my civic and they were great!

Finally found the set on the web.

HPD Scorp

But these I'm gonna get are gunmetal, not the black ones pictured.
