Default **NEW** KYB AGX "adjustable" shocks for RD's

Well... are they available?
For years I tried to find adjustable shocks for RD's, and found nothing... if what I read is true, KYB just released a new part number for our cars:
AGX offered in UK store

I found it on The UKHCC forums website

Had you heard of it? Are they available in the US?

OK; I know it's a double post, and I hope it´s OK to bump it, but no one has replied and I think it's weird because it should be a great thing to have adjustable shocks for our cars wouldn't it?
Official BUMP.

Wow, good thing you did bump it. I must've overlooked it when I was going over what I missed when my cpu locked up on me. 12.gif

Anyway, that is kinda cool. How trustworthy I don't know. I figured that we would know about these from somebody. When I got my KYB's this last spring we spoke to a certified distributor to see if there were any adjustable types available. The only ones he could think of were the Koni 5 ways. And at $245 a strut, I wasn't about to get those.

Maybe we'll get Hobgoblin to try them out since he's already over there. wink1.gif

Yeah!
I know the US market has a special product lineup, but if these part was developed for the europeans, maybe we could ask for a GB with a local distributor or whatever, that should guarantee us some good price, and also availability.
Well, let's see how much interest there is in this items, they shouldn't cost more than the unit's for Honda's or other imports, that's around $90 a piece I think.

Yes I know, they are not "available" in the US, but they are in Europe. Kayaba (KYB) is a big supplier in Japan, they are suppliers for Toyota, Nissan and others, and I think most (if not all) of their production is made in Japan. I don't thonk they are making those AGX shocks for Tibs in Europe, so, if they can ship them to Europe, they sure can ship them to the US, I don't know why they don't as there are not many competitors with a similar offer.

What's the difference between the AGX and the GR-2's?

The GR-2 are the fine gas replacements for OEM shocks (FAAAAAR better than OEM IMO) and the AGX is the ADJUSTABLE lineup from KYB, which let's you choose how hard/soft you want your dampening rates...
I'm not sure exactly how they are (the ones for Tibs) but I know there are some in which you can adjust compression independently from expanssion.
