Default I don't understand lug nuts...

What's the deal with lug nut locks and lightweight lugs? If a thief wants to take your wheels, they're going to steal them. Like if a company makes wheel locks, then the person that wants to steal your wheels would just go buy the key and then come back to steal them right?

And lightweight forged lug nuts are a scam right? Like what's the point if they don't really give you the slightest iota of performance.

I'm just really frustrated because I don't want to spend a lot of money on lightweight locking lug nuts, but want some kind of security... I already have a full car alarm.

Anyone have recommendations?

Get the wheel locks. They CAN be stolen, but will be much less likely a target then a car without them.

most wheel locks can be removed

but realize most removers require you to hammer on a special socket

someone hammering on your car is gonna bring some attention to them

BUT

i still say dont buy wheel locks, odds are youll lose the key and be screwed on the side of the road with a flat

or

they will strip out and again screwed
