Default Rim wax

Can you use regular exterior wax on painted or powdercoated wheels or will it harm them? Looking for something that will truly keep my rims shining. I have chrome polish I use for the lips, but wasnt sure what could be used on the colored part of them.

Yeah, you can use wax. I find that the TW ice wax works really nicely on the rims, and you don't have to worry about white residue.
