Default How Do You Protect Your Expensive Lugs When Torqueing Them

I searched around the internet, and found some ideas (like using tape so the paint doesnt flake off them), but i was wondering what everyone does to protect their expensive lugs when putting them on and taking them off?

I don't buy expensive lug nuts. Cheap ones work just as well.

^^If they are doing that, flaking off, then you paid WAY too much for your expensive lug nuts!

I got black gorilla lugs for my rims like 4 years ago, I even take them off and put them on with an impact... I don't wanna hear anyone saying "you shouldn't do that!!!!", because i do and it works fine

They are as black and shiny as the day i got them. If your having problems with them flaking then they are just low quality.

expensive + flaking = you got ripped off..

I have some aluminum annodized black lugs on the Jeep that I was going to use on the tib.. use hand tools without protection on the lugs.. removed and reinstalled 3-4 times now, still look great.

If it is that big a deal just get the Gorilla lugs like posted above the finish is probably tougher then the lug wrench that came with your car.
