So i have been doing some reading and talking with some members (187sks) about upgrading my breaks. It has come to my attention that the RD/RD2 rotors/calipers will fit the LC's. The rotors just need to be re-drilled. Same goes with the XG300's..
I am trying to find a caliper for cheap; I am currently talking to a guy who has a 98 Elantra that he's parting out. I am going to try to snag a caliper and rotor from him. If I can just get the caliper to mount right up that would be awesome, then I would know what size caliper to get. In other word the caliper hold on the rotor on the LC's.
If anyone want’s to donate or have a old caliper they want to sell I'm all in. Just shoot me a PM.
If this works out, I will post up a complete DIY and parts list for the LC/LC2 owners out their.
Cheers...

If nothing else I can bolt them on and see if the calipers fit. I don't think his rotors or calipers are much bigger than mine though really.
Yeah, I think I can get you that deal, or close to free. But you may have to wait until his part out is done so he has a stoppable rolling chassis.

I am not sure if the Elantra's brakes are the same size as the RD. His brakes also look small. I might be able to get him to measure the rotor for me...
i heard about people using the kia sorrento rotors because they are 4x100 and are bigger and the caliper lines up perfectly. you only need a spacer. but did you get any work done with this project?

I ran out of funds. smile.gif I have to wait until I have more funds. This isnt on the top of my list anymore. When I have time I will get to it. Sorry, I really want to do this. Just no time or money! wink.gif

It's still high on my list. The Sorrento is 4x100? I was figuring on trying the Spectra rotors. I was thinking about seeing if a whole Spectra5's brake rotor and caliper would bolt on, maybe the spindle even.
