suggestion
Since this a suggestion fourm..I suggest there be a " view active topics "clicky under the "view new post" clicky..So we can see all recent postings for more than just one day!?

Click on your username at the top right of the page and click My Settings. From the "View New Content Method" drop down box that appears, select "Show me all content that I have not read"
This should fix your problem.
Edit: This changes how the link is used for "View New Posts" that appears to the top right of the shoutbox.

At the bottom of the forum, you can click on See Active Posts

In your Settings, you can change them to view either in the last 24 hours or posts you havent read yet
