Hey java I do alot of late night surfing and when every body stops posting, the new post section contains few or no posts. I know that its not showing the threads that werent posted in for like an hour but if a user just got on and hasnt seen them, they are still new to them. I know that you can still see the posts if you look thu each section but its always easier in the new posts window. I was wondering if there was anyway to set the new post window to display new posts where the definition of "new" isnt restricted to within the last 15-20 minutes, i was thinking maybe you could set it to display the last 20 posts OR the newest posts within the 15-20 minute limit, whichever is longer at that point in time. I think this would make surfing the site more convenient and i hope it wouldnt be too hard of a request to institute. if the effort wouldnt be worth it then nevermind.smile.gif

And is there any way to set the searcher to look for some words that are only three letters long? searching for ECU, cam, OBX, etc is difficult. i understand that we use CPG-Nuke but i was hoping there was a way to alter the settings, if not, forget i said n-e thing

^^ Like he said. New posts shows all the new posts since your last visit. When I came back from Alabama last month there were 6 or 7 pages of new posts.

Ham, I think he is talking about the latest forum topics on the home page.Alex, I may be wrong ^^^ but if not, go to the Forumns page and click on the Quick Links, next select New Posts. This will bring up all new posts since your last visit.

On taskbar type thing i click on new posts and it doesnt always show all new posts since i last visited. if i dont log on in like 10 hrs and get on at 3 o'clock in the morning it says no posts found or just a few posts. to then see the posts i had posted in i look into the user CP and click on my subscribed threads and it shows alot of posts that i had posted in and i hadnt seen.

for a case in point example, java when you upgraded the pics and said that i had dibs on that turbo/mani thread, i logged on and clicked new posts and it didnt have any results. i went into the user cp and the subscribed links and found that you (and tib minn) had posted in that thread since i had been away. This isnt the only time this happens, it happens quite frequently. Maybe its just for me?confused.gif

also what about the search thing?

I agree on the search, but new posts works fine.

You could always just use this link and see all the posts in the past 24 hours.

When I open a topic with some new replyies. There is nothing to distinguish new posts from old.
