I purchased a Gates timing belt kit complete with the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. And
have my car for sale so I have decided against doing the timing belt.
Part number TCK284 fits 1998-2001 Tiburon 2.0 and Elantra 2.0.
I paid $80 looking for $65 shipped to us and canada

Same situation with a water pump. Brand new Master water pump still in box w/ gasket.
Not remanufactured. BRAND NEW PN CP9353
I paid $65 looking for $55 shipped to us or canada

I'm willing to sell both for $100 shipped

send email to hawaiianracer_86@yahoo.com

Great deal

one sugestion- why dont you add to the price of the car and give it to the person that might buy the car.
just my .02 cents

Really sad to see another tibby go for sale 02.gif

^^ that's an idea but alot of people like to feel more comfortable knowing everything is done and the car is going to run for a long time.

hawaiianracer86 10-29-2006 05:50 PM

yeah the plan was to keep the car and do the tune up. I was going to do it myself but once I dug in and saw that the belt was good that was on there I said the heck w/ it and left it. so my loss your gain.

DTN 10-29-2006 10:39 PM

^^ don't assume because it looks good, it is good. It can be all fuxored up inside and you don't know it. There's little strands that wear over time and eventually the belt will snap. They recommend changing it periodically and keep it shielded from elements for a reason. Its not a good idea to neglect regular maintenance on a vehical... At least slip into the conversation that you might need a timing belt soon and let him do the research, or tell him about HMAService.com

pile_of_rd1 10-30-2006 12:37 AM

Isnt the only difference the length of the belt between a 1.8 and a 2.0? If so Im interested in both.

hawaiianracer86 10-30-2006 07:52 AM

I'm not sure if it'll fit a 1.8 I'm sure someone on here could tell you that though.

(also to everyone who is advising me what to do, I appreciate it but I'm not an idiot and
would prefer you not whore my thread)

REDZMAN 10-30-2006 08:40 AM

No one said you were an idiot and only one person suggested that you install the belt and sell the car for 100 bucks more.

That's GOOD advise.

I'd recommend that NO one buy a part that is vital to your engine from someone you don't know, or someone completely new to the forums. Sorry, it's just not worth the risk.

Or anyone by the name of Hawaiianracer owned.gif

hawaiianracer86 11-02-2006 09:32 AM

Thats fine. dont buy it. Honestly I was not going to come on these boards and be an ass. I bought my tiburon for way under blue book and it only had 30k on it. That was the only reason I bought it too. Looking back I would have done things different. Besides that I had the belt kit and water pump and was just trying to sell it to someone who would possibly be looking for one on here at a cheaper price. Like I stated my loss your gain just trying to help someone out. Sorry I tried ....

(To the thread MOD: I am not sure if venting like this is grounds for a band, but if it is I had no intentions to do so. sorry)
