Racing With An Auto
Ive never done it but i am pretty sure you hold the e brake, but I like saving tires for turns and saving my tanny as long as possible, during the summer it gets really hot, 210 driving across town today and 250 at the last race, had to miss the last few runs mad.gif, I worry about it because the previous owner burnt the tranny fluid
Burnout on street tires = worse times. There is no point, some people say it gets dirt\gravel off, but that really won't make any difference at all. Street compound tires don't grip well once heated up.
Deep stage the car, hold the brake down, give it a lil gas, when you start to feel the car creep forward, let off a little. When the light goes green floor it and left off the brake slightly after going full throttle.

NO! Not on a FWD car. On a RWD car, you can do a brake stand...but that's still pretty bad for the transmission.
You have to understand that autos use tranny fluid to operate under. If the fluid starts to get hot and boil, then it doesn't perform as well. That's why you see auto tranny cars/trucks that trailer heavy equipment are required to use a tranny cooler to prevent the transmission from overheating.
Not to mention...the I4 autos are poorly made. They're known to blow within 60k miles or so. I had mine blow twice at around 30k miles on my other Tib. Yay for 10 year warranties.

My car dosent move when you hold the brake at wot even, but I have pretty good brakes for my hp, also what kind of racing because when I go to the track they tell you can go but you dont have to go right then because it has lasers that set off the timers just dont make people wait because they prolly wouldnt like that lmao.gif

There is a few things that are not right that were said.
Hold the brake with your left foot, then give it gas enough so your rpms will be around 2000, do not floor it like you were told before. Do not do it for a long time because transmissions don't like it. Keep it like that for no more than 5 seconds, and as soon as you see third yellow light come up, release the brake and floor the car.
A/C, yes it's possible to do a burn out on a FWD car... just get your E brake all the way up and floor your car, but unless you have drag radials or slicks you don't need to do this. Like Ham said, it will make your ETs worse.
