Default How often do you go to the track?

With the warm weather here all the tracks in the area are opening up and doing different types of events and nights. How often does everyone here go to the track? Every week? Month? Season? I'm gonna try and go at least 2 or 3 times this summer.

Used to go 3-4 times a year even if I wasn't racing

Now that I moved, haven't gone in a year

I have 11 autocross events in the 2 series I run for season points. I usually pick up a couple extra events in there somewhere.

I don't typically go to the drag strip, but I am planning on going once this summer at least.

Next summer I hope to hit a road course a time or two, we have a new facility opening up. I might go to another small road course this summer if I fix my oil starvation issues.

Once a month whether I'm driving at the event or not. In Southern Arizona it's backwards, the season ends and there is a break over the summer due to the high temps. Rest of year is 80-90 and awesome.

If you get in good with the organizers and work the events they'll usually hook it up with free track time in HPDE sessions, one for one..

Not really hard "work" (refer to attached pictured)

By "track" do you mean dragstrip? autox parking lot? Or actual racetrack?

Check out trackpedia.com for actual racetracks. I love my location here in Northern AZ with Phoenix & Firebird Intl, Phoenix & Inde Motorsports Parks all within AZ. Then there's Arroyo Seca and Sandia in NM and Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, and cal Speedway closeby in SoCal. WoohoO!

For two summers, a couple of years back, I was at the drag strip every Saturday running points in street class and sometimes both Saturday and Sunday on big event weekends. I was also auto crossing at least twice a month the second year.

That second summer was the best time of my life. Two days at the track and five days working a 40 hour week. It was sweet. Amazing too is I had no trailer or tow vehicle and was able to get back home every time. Nearest drag to me is 1/8 mile and is about 1.5 hour drive.
